Automaton Bite 1682 "Black Gold" Moving Gears Large and Silent Wall Clock

The Automaton series of wall clocks is designed and handcrafted in the WOODANDROOT workshop.

Our wall clock is made of many layers of wood, mdf and acrylic mirror. The front elements of the clock are decorated with detailed and intricate engraving.
Every detail in this model is hand-decorated with high-quality paint, turning it into an art object on your wall.

While making the design of a new clock we were inspired by a very strange steampunk tattoo that we suddenly caught sight of. It contained an idea of time evanescence and at the same moment its tangibility, which you can literally touch.

The hands motion is complemented by the movement of 4 gears each of which is an AA battery operated. We use silent mechanisms, so they can be used even in the bedroom. The mirror on the background adds some volume to the clock and amplifies the movement effect, transforming the clock into a kinetic installation.

Upon request the clock can be personalized with a text engraving on the centre piece (instead of the text Automaton ...), which will neatly supplement the look of the clock face.
